Focusing on Physician Well-Being

At OSMA, it is our goal to support physicians in a holistic way—professionally and personally. We know stress and burnout are serious issues facing the physician profession, and these concerns have become even more prevalent in the COVID-19 climate.

Physicians are intensely focused on the health of the patients they treat, and as Ohio's statewide organization representing physicians, a key component of OSMA's strategic plan is the well-being of our members, and the members of their teams who all work tirelessly to deliver quality care. While we hoped to have well-being gatherings across the state this year, the COVID-19 pandemic made that impossible. However, it is perhaps more important now than ever to gather physicians virtually to focus on their personal health—which, in turn, helps continue the best care for their patients.

Our Physician Well-being Summer Series concluded last week, and we're proud to provide the four sessions as free recordings—available on-demand for you to access at your convenience. Each speaker provided both national and international expertise, while connecting and speaking to individual concerns and questions.

We hope over the next several weeks and months you will take the opportunity to review each recording to support your journey as a physician who is delivering care in a complex time.

OSMA's well-being work won’t end with the summer series, as our Well-Being Committee will continue to develop resources and programming to support the medical profession. While we might not be able to gather in large groups anytime soon, we are committed to being flexible and innovative moving forward.

If you have any suggestions for future topics/programs or would like to become involved in the planning process, please email OSMA >
