OSMA Insurance Agency Announces 2019 Average Rate Renewal of only 2.9 Percent

Physician practices participating in the OSMA’s Health Benefits Plan (HBP) will see another year of rate increases averaging single digits. Renewal increases for 2019 will average 2.9%. This increase, along with plan increases over the past three years, show a four-year average of 4.5%. Significantly below the national averages.

If you have already renewed your health plan for 2019, and are unhappy with your rate, it’s not too late to request an OSMA HBP quote. Acting now could result in considerable cost savings for 2019.

The OSMA’s decision to offer a managed, self-funded health plan alternative to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has served our members very well. Since the HBP’s inception in April 2015, there has been continued participant growth, as well as benefit and cost stability.

The HBP’s traditional plan gives Ohio physician practices more control of your coverage, which will help keep your healthcare costs to a minimum, and help keep you independent.

In addition to our low renewal rates the HBP offers very competitive rates to new groups, and the following benefits:

  • A member only plan (includes family and staff)
  • Member physician board of trustees
  • Available to groups of 2 to 99 employees
  • Variety of deductibles and co-pays
  • No monthly administrative fees
  • Easily compatible with HRAs and HSAs
  • SuperMed Plus network (Medical Mutual)
  • No community rating

If you received a renewal premium increase that is unsatisfactory and would like to obtain a HBP quote, contact the OSMA’s Insurance Agency at 800-860-4525 or by Email >>
