TheAnswerPage Certified Medical Marijuana 2-hr course satisfies the CME requirements for the initial Ohio Certificate to Recommend (CTR) application. The learner can earn up to 2 AMA PRA Category 1™ credits. Content also provides ACPE, AANP, ANCC, and APA credits for pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses and psychologists, respectively. The course introduces the reader to the endocannabinoid system and its interaction with the components of the cannabis plant, and addresses administration, therapeutic use, drug metabolism, physiologic and cognitive effects, potential risks, and drug interactions. The use of marijuana in obstetric, pediatric, adolescent and elderly patients is addressed in detail. Important considerations for patients with ischemic heart disease, hepatic disease, psychotic illness, and those with a history of drug dependence are provided. Subscribers can complete the curriculum, and refer to the content throughout their 12-month subscription period. Learners will receive 2 certificates upon successful completion: A certificate of credit entitled “The Comprehensive Medical Marijuana Curriculum” and a certificate of completion entitled “Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program Qualifying Conditions.” BOTH certificates must be submitted with the CTR application.

Physicians who hold a CTR in Ohio must earn two hours of approved medical marijuana education each year. Credit earned by completing this webinar may be used towards this requirement. By successfully completing this webinar, the learner should be able to:

- Discuss adverse reactions to medical marijuana
- Recognizing symptoms of drug abuse
- Describe interactions with regulatory agencies
